Rave Scout Cookies Handbook #001
The Rave Scout Cookies Handbook #001 is rich with stories you can share with fellow ravers around a campfire, at your favorite afters, or packed tight in a bathroom stall, whichever. We start off by following our roots to the source, exploring the history of Queers and People of Color in the rave scene through the lens of expert scholars. Next, read up on how to rave a little safer with our harm reduction guide featuring DanceSafe National. We’ve got treats for your ears, mind, and soul with our recommendations for books and records. Get some insight into the lives and journeys of some of our favorite artists, including Ariel Zetina, Justin Cudmore, Kirk Woodwest, and Jeffery Sfire. Access the more vulnerable side of some of your co-ravers with our features on Sidera Sinistra, Paul Bui, and Adriana Varedi. Learn about ALKHEMY and Por Detroit, two collectives doing their part to bring the underground rave scene back to its original Black, Brown, and Queer roots on an international scale. We've curated an archival section of historical party flyers for some visual stim, and we’ve turned to the cosmos to understand the astrological machinations behind the success of some of our favorite rave collectives. There's something for everybody: mystic, skeptic, historian, futurist, and ravers alike.
Pre-Order your handbook and munch on these Rave Scout Cookies and nourish your rave-spirit.
Rave Scout Cookies is a community-driven, underground electronic music multimedia platform and countercultural rave preservation movement dedicated to bolstering a diverse roster of underrepresented and undiscovered marginalized collectives, talents, and ravers. Our core was inspired by the African American Boy Scout Movement that emerged in 1911 following the establishment of the original Boys Scout of America in 1910. The Boy Scout organization catered exclusively to white youth, and the African American Boy Scout Troop was formed in Kentucky to salvage their code of ethics by turning it on its head. To be a Rave Scout, one must be inclusive of all the inhabitants of our realm— regardless of one's ethnic background, social status, disability, gender, or sexuality. We are a collective of ravers who want to support and propel each other forward.
